In this thread I want to share my experience and view on comic collabs, and hopefully read how you guys feel about it too ^^ preferably in the same order as me (I like things organized) sort of like an interview! You can post your finished interviews in the reply section of this comic.
Ps. If you know more questions feel free to add them to your own interview and I will edit this post and add them, and answer it myself too
Experience: None, I've never done a comic collab before, this is my first.
What are your expectations?: My expectations are that I will feel motivated to make more pages, because I know I'm not in this alone, and overall creating a story together is more fun than doing it alone imo. (thusfar I've only worked on comics alone and I barely feel motivated)
How do you like the progress so far?: Thus far I can feel a lot of motivation coming up, to get this project rolling and connect with you guys, so I sometimes feel a little frustrated, like AAaargh I want to work on the comic! But I can't because this and that and that! xD motivation can be a bitch sometimes.
I also sometimes feel I give more input than desired, so please correct me if I'm wrong on that!
What's your preferred method of going about collabs?: I like things organized, so I want to know what my character is going to go through, who he's going to fall in love with, what his part will be in the plot. When I know this I can start to fantasize of how I want my part of the pages to look like. So especially because this is a boylove comic, I want to have at least paired up my boys before jumping into the rabbit holes. So I really hope we can open up some kind of discussion soon about pairing up our characters or creating new ones to pair with our characters, because then I can really start fantasizing and make a couple of pages!
How do you feel about adultery?: I've drawn it before and I'll draw it again haha. I'm no expert, but I certainly won't object to giving the fanbase what they want. If you ask me, the sooner intimacy happens, the bigger the fanbase will become. I'm not saying we should become one of those porn boyloves heavens no. But an intimate scene here and there during the plot from the beginning to the end would certainly be appreciated by many people.
How do you feel about fans?: Fans are to me a motivating factor. If various people comment on the same page how much they like it and support the comic, I will feel like making more pages. Though because this is a collab I do think it'll matter less than when one makes a comic all by themselves. We have each other to talk to and plot with and motivate. Heck we even have this forum now!
How do you feel about delivering?: I know a comic is mostly about telling the story that you want, or bringing a clear message to the world, but somehow I really want to deliver. I think it started out with youtube, when I first got into cosplay I made some vids with a friend who stayed over, we didn't have wigs or anything so we just improvised our cosplays and had fun. Later we decided to put it on youtube, and when people were showing interest and really liked us we decided to make more videos and try and deliver something entertaining. So I definitely want to combine telling a story with giving the fan base what they want.
Are you nit-picky with comic pages?: This question kind of flows together with the previous one. I like to deliver so I'm actually kind of happy that as artists we're all on equal levels. Not that I'm this bitch who would be unhappy to work with those of lesser skill, but in all honesty comics with good artist do tend to spread more quickly. I also know that numbers of readers shouldn't matter, and it doesn't, working with you guys is something I really look forward to and am going to enjoy, but I won't deny that it's always something I strive for.
So yes, I am a bit nit picky with pages. I will always compliment a page, because I know how much work goes into making it, but I will not hold back constructive criticism. If a page looks good people will admire it more, thus making it a better page. I hope the spelling mistakes on the first two pages will be fixed soon because it's really bothering me, and I'd be more than happy to help or fix it myself

Experience: Have you done comic collabs before? How were they like? What did you like and dislike about them?
What are your expectations?: How do you think this collab will be like and how will it affect you?
How do you like the progress so far?: The communication with the fellow collaborators, the input, the characters and pages etc.
What's your preferred method of going about collabs?:
How do you feel about adultery?: Face it, the majority of the boylove fanbase are horny teenage girls who want to see man on man romance and action. In every boylove online comic I've read the comment section is filled with people (mostly hormonal teenage girls) asking for the two characters in question to get very very intimate.
How do you feel about fans?: You know, the same bunch of people that spreads their love and desires on every new page that is posted.
How do you feel about delivering?: Giving the fans what they want. (could be you don't care much for it)
Are you nit-picky with comic pages?: Don't hold back if you are, and if you're not that's only a plus, means you're easy to work with.
